Detained Okuama Leaders To Be Arraigned In Warri FHC By Nigerian Army

Fifteen months after being detained by the Nigerian Army, living Okuama leaders will be arraigned before the Federal High Court, sitting in Warri, Delta State.

 

The detained Okuama leaders, Prof Arthur Ekpekpo, Chief Belvis Adogbo, Mr Dennis Okugbaye, Dennis Malaka and others will appear before court for arraignement.

 

Though details of their arraignment is sketchy,it was learned the Nigerian had in a suit no: FHC/WR/CS/42/2024 bring them before the court.

 

It would be recalled that Prof Arthur Ekpekpo, Chief Belvis Adogbo, Pa James Oghoroko,(now deceased) Dennis Okugbaye, Dennis Malaka, and Mrs Mabel Ohwemu were arrested at different locations in Delta state.

 

According to a source, Prof. Arthur Ekpekpo and four other Okuama indigenes, detained by the Nigerian Army since August 18, 2024, will be arraigned tomorrow at the Federal High Court, Warri (Suit No: FHC/WR/CS/42/2024).

“Their prolonged detention, despite a court order and the reported death of one detainee in custody, has sparked national and international outcry.

 

“A UK-based Urhobo traditional Chief name withheld and others are urging Urhobo people, senior lawyers, and Nigerians at large to stand for justice in the case.”
